All trails, except for the pedestrian-friendly Tanyard Creek Loop, are designed to be shared by both hikers and bike riders. There are over 100 miles of trail built throughout the Ozark mountain forests. That is a lot of trail to choose from. A volunteer website maintained by hiker John Nuttall Where to Walk in Bella Vista is a detailed description of access, elevation, terrain, and more of Bella Vista trails from a mostly pedestrian point of view.
The trails are marked for level of expertise for bikers. Hikers can use their own sense of their level of fitness to plan a route. The black diamond trails--marked skilled riders only--are not unduly difficult for a hiker. They are less frequented by bike riders and offer amazing views and interesting things to see. Try Danger Will Robinson, a trail mountain bikers call 'very difficult' and Bella Vista naturalists call a fascinating hike.
